Siobhan Fitzpatrick (Clinic Owner) BSc, MSc, MISCP

Siobhan Fitzpatrick is a Chartered Physiotherapist and member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). Siobhan graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (BSc Hons) in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2004. She returned to UCD to continue her postgraduate studies and gained a Master of Science (MSc) in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2011. Her postgraduate qualifications have awarded her level II IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists) membership. Siobhan is also a qualified Pilates instructor.

Siobhan works in University Hospital Waterford as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal Triage. This role involves working as an advanced practitioner assessing chronic orthopaedic conditions such as osteoarthritic knees and hips and deciding on the most appropriate treatment route for the client. Siobhan works closely with the Orthopaedic team and is continuously developing her skills as an Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in this area.
 

Siobhan has long been involved in the treatment of sports injuries and has significant experience in managing conditions specific to runners, triathletes and GAA players. She was chartered physiotherapist to Ballygunner Hurling Club for almost ten years and was lead physiotherapist to the Waterford Senior hurling team for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Rory Carthy BSc, MISCP

Rory is a Chartered Physiotherapist and member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). Rory qualified with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (BSc Hons) in Physiotherapy from Trinity College, Dublin in 2007.

Rory is also employed as a physiotherapist with the local Primary Care Team in Waterford Regional Hospital. His work incorporates all aspects of physiotherapy including musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation and care of the elderly. Rory has a particular interest in dry needling and injuries to the foot and ankle.
 

Rory has a keen interest in the treatment of sports injuries and was part of the chartered physiotherapy team to the Waterford Senior hurling team during the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Miley Joyce MSc, MISCP

Miley is a Chartered Physiotherapist and member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). Miley qualified with a Master of Science (MSc.) level Physiotherapy degree from The University of Brighton, East Sussex, UK in 2011. Miley worked in a number of hospitals and rehabilitation units in the South East region of England and worked with the Eastbourne Men’s Rugby Club in 2013 and 2014.
Miley is also employed as a physiotherapist with the local Primary Care Team in Waterford Regional Hospital and the Paediatric Physiotherapy team (including primary care and disabilities). His work incorporates all aspects of physiotherapy including musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, care of the elderly and paediatrics. Miley has a particular interest in knee and back injuries, aquatic physiotherapy and chronic pain management.

Dr. Susan Murphy PhD, MSc., MISCP, MMACP

Dr. Susan Murphy PhD, MSc., MISCP, MMACP

Dr. Susan Murphy is a Chartered Physiotherapist and member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). She originally trained in University College Dublin (UCD), completed her Masters degree at Coventry University England and obtained the highest level of academic excellence when she graduated from UCD with a PhD in 2014. Susan is also a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, UK. (MACP, UK)

Susan has vast experience in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. She has worked both in Ireland and the United Kingdom, at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, the Blackrock Clinic, Dublin, University Hospital Waterford and St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. London. In addition, to her clinical work, Susan is also involved in the education of both undergraduate and post graduate physiotherapists, lectures regularly at the School of Physiotherapy, UCD and delivers postgraduate training courses to physiotherapists.

Susan is highly skilled in the treatment of all musculoskeletal dysfunction – neck, shoulder, back , hip knee, foot disorders but her particular area of expertise is in the management of Low Back Pain (LBP). Her recent PhD study explored the role of exercise in LBP management and the study findings have been published both nationally and internationally. In her current role at University Hospital Waterford BackCare Programme, Susan is an integral member of the Orthopaedic team and is entrusted by the Orthopaedic Consultants with the physiotherapy care of benign musculoskeletal back and neck pain.
